Location: Newmarket, Suffolk. Simon Crisford was Godolphin’s Racing Manager for many years before he set up as a trainer in 2015 and in 2020, he took out a joint license with his son Ed.
Now based at the superb Gainsborough Stables on Newmarket’s Hamilton Road, Simon & Ed have an enviable set up that includes an equine pool, spa, and treadmill.
Simon & Ed have proved they can train all types of horses, from Royal Ascot winning two-year-olds to hugely valuable races in Dubai and further afield. Consistently operating at a strike rate of 20% their results have gone from strength to strength, with race earnings exceeding £ 1.3 million for the last three consecutive seasons.
Their 2023 Champion 2-year-old Vandeek, winner of the Prix Morny (Gr 1) and Middle Park Stakes (Gr 1) highlighted Simon & Ed’s capabilities to train at the very pinnacle of the sport.
