ralph beckett

Location: Kimpton Down, Hampshire.  Ralph Beckett needs no introduction, bringing with him a wealth of experience and success in his career, which spans 25 years at the historic Kimpton Down stables in Lambourn.

Beckett has come a long way since his first season in 1999 when he had a dozen horses and “the main objective was to get through the next season and still be in business.” Quarter of a century later, Beckett now boasts an impressive Roll of Honour consisting of no less than 13 Group 1 winners, including most recently Kinross (2022 Champions Sprint and Prix De La Foret), Lezoo (2022 Cheveley Park), Prosperous Voyage (2022 Falmouth). Last season (2023) was his most lucrative yet: 133 UK winners, £4.15 million in prize money and another Group 1 success for Westover, in the Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud

Kimpton Down is home to some impressive state-of-the-art facilities, set in the heart of the idyllic Hampshire countryside near Andover. There have been some iconic Classic winning stable stars including Talent (2013 Oaks), who became the first Classic winner ever to be trained there and has been followed by Simple Verse (2015 St Leger) and Westover (2022 Irish Derby).

We are very much looking forward to our first visits and building a, no doubt, fruitful relationship with Ralph and his team.
