The Jack Russell Inn

The Roman village of Faccombe, once known as Faccan-Cumbe, was a vibrant farming community that profited culturally and economically from playing host to weary travellers on the busy trade route to and from London. Despite knowing about the curious history of some of the bygone villagers, The Jack Russell sits at the heart of a village we know very little about.

The Jack Russell boasts a broad variety of locally-sourced farm to table produce and to realise our philosophy of sustainability we use as many seasonal ingredients as possible. Many of the herbs on the menu are grown around the building and in the pub gardens, whilst they source rare breed Dexter Beef from just down the road at Hollington Farm in Highclere.

The Jack Russell Inn is the perfect spot for post-ramble refreshments, where you can enjoy delicious estate fare with real fires in the winter or garden views of the village pond in the summer. There are charming walks around the beautiful estate village of Faccombe in Hampshire. The walking route explores the estate thoroughfares, following farm tracks and woodland paths through the beautiful rolling hills. It is a peaceful journey with plenty of wildlife, wildflowers and lovely vistas along the way

The bedrooms are very comfortable and they are kindly able to offer Highclere owners a very special rate for their stay and a glass of English Sparkling Wine from Coates and Seely on arrival. The food is also excellent with a varied but not overly complex menu and a carefully chosen wine list to match.

If we can help with a reservation please don’t hesitate to get in touch with either myself or one of the team as we will be happy to help.
