Location: Newmarket, Suffolk. Sir Mark Prescott’s Heath House Stables is one of the most beautiful and historic racing stables in Newmarket where horses have been trained for over 185 years. Sir Mark has been in residence since 1970, sending out over 2000 winners including classic winning Confidential Lady, champion sire Pivotal and champion fillies Alborada, Albanova, Last Second and world champion 2-year-old filly, Hooray.
Sir Mark and his long-standing assistant William Butler run a boutique training operation where numbers are strictly limited to focus on quality. The yard is always immaculate, and the horses equally well presented. The same cannot be said for Sir Mark’s battered old white Subaru, which he uses to keep a close eye on his horses out on the heath!
Sir Mark’s career came to a poignant peak in 2022 when his star mare Alpinista stormed to victory in Europe’s richest race, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Sir Mark had trained her dam, Alwilda and her grand-dam, Albanova for owner breeder Miss Kirsten Rausing.
