George Boughey
Newmarket, Suffolk
Despite only taking out his licence in July 2019, George Boughey has risen to the limelight in rapid fashion, saddling over 400 winners and earning prize-money close to £2 million for the last three consecutive seasons.
Our own Cachet’s emphatic win in the 1000 Guineas in 2022 not only confirmed Boughey as a truly talented trainer for us, but also cemented his reputation as one of the most talented young trainers in the UK. His handling of Via Sistina, the runaway winner of the Curragh’s Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes (2023) only served to further highlight George’s ability to compete at the very highest level.
George’s phenomenal start for Highclere continued in 2024 with 6-time Group 1 placed Believing flying the flag on the international stage. Soprano went from strength-to-strength, providing yet another Royal Ascot winner for Highclere in the Sandringham Stakes and proving herself a Group 1 performer this year, and next, with a close up third in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown
Based at Saffron House Stables in Newmarket, it is fantastic to continue to have George on our team of trainers as we feel there are many more exciting times ahead for this talented rising star.
