David Simcock

Newmarket, Suffolk

David Simcock began training in 2004 with fewer than ten horses to his name. Since then, he has proven himself a trainer of the highest order, achieving classic success with Teppal in the 2018 French 1,000 Guineas. Furthermore, David has shown his capacity to handle elite level sprinters, such was his success with three-time Group 1 winner Dream Ahead.

Adept in the training of horses of all types, David has celebrated major wins at Royal Ascot, British Champions Day, the Dubai World Cup Carnival and in North America (both USA and Canada). His globe trotting star Desert Encounter won two Canadian Internationals in a career that spanned 9 years.

David trained Highclere Australia’s star Durston in his first two seasons to win two Class 2 handicaps before he went on to win a Caulfield Cup in Australia for Chris Waller. His most recent Highclere charge is a striking son of Masar called Lord Chamberlain, who could also be bound for Australia in the future.
